Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Oct 2021Maidenhead to Windsor (Maiwin 1) review.
An enjoyable Slow Way which essentially follows the Thames Path National Trail.
Starting at Maidenhead, there is a short amount of street walking to reach the Thames towpath at Bridge Gardens (Photo 1).
The route passes opposite Bray, with glimpses of the former Hammer Films studio and associated Oakley Court (Photo 2). Further on is the attractive Boveney chapel (Photo 3).
The walk ends at Windsor (Photo 4), with plenty of amenities.

15 Jun 2021This is a very easy route to enjoy which follows the Thames Path for much of its length. The path does cut through a few gardens (where you feel quite gated in) and there are a couple of narrow points, but this is a top quality Slow Way with much to offer.

02 May 2021An easy, flat route that starts at Windsor and Eton Central station and ends at Maidenhead Town Hall and Library, and follows the Thames Path National Trail. Lots to see along the route, plenty of benches to stop for a rest, no stiles. Joggers, dog walkers and cyclists also use the path. The surface alternates between grass, hard packed soil/gravel and concrete/tarmac.
