Description

This is a modification on the original Llarho route avoiding the private land and non-navigable sections and any obstacles for anyone in a wheelchair or with a push chair. Unfortunately is uses quite a few more roadways as a result, but also uses the canal path from/into Llangollen for almost half the walk, making it a nice easy route and there are no steep or rocky sections. Views from the Rhos end towards the Dee Valley are lovely and if you have time you can include a wheel over the World Heritage site of the Pontcysyllte aqueduct at the half way point, which is definitely recommended, although this path is quite narrow and the surface not smooth. There are also a couple of excellent pubs along the route if you have time - the Sun Trevor - watch out for the bridge over the canal to it about 2.5 miles out of Llangollen, and also the Telford Inn at the junction of the canal and aqueduct

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
