28 Nov 2024The route left Seaforth and Litherland Station and went past a large Lidl supermarket. It then went along the edge of a small suburban park on a tarmacked path. At the time, this was covered with soggy autumn leaves and a certain amount of litter, and it also had street lighting.
The path was alongside one railway line and went under the viaduct of an adjoining line (I always like a bit of railway infrastructure!).
There was then a long straight road where the cars were parked where they should be (not on the pavement) which was a nice change. A bit further along I had to cross a zebra crossing, where the drivers were less well behaved, unfortunately.
I liked the greener detour around the back of Bootle Leisure Centre, which sadly has seen better days. The route ended after a temporarily closed Aldi supermarket, with a pelican crossing (the type that always prioritises cars over pedestrians) before arriving at Bootle New Strand Station, opposite a shopping centre.
A direct and functional route, difficult to imagine how to improve it.

16 Sep 2024I walked from Bootle to Litherland.
Mostly urban walk with good use of green space making it a pleasant stroll between two transport links.
Shops close to the Bootle end, single shop at Litherland.
Good flat surfaces, street furniture obstacles but good for wheels.
Short functional slow way.

03 Apr 2022A very short route between two stations. Well-paved in urban areas, and good tarmacced surfaces on footpaths, fully accessible to all.
Route around leisure centre unnecessary as you can just carry on along the road, but it's a nice shot green diversion!.
