Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Problem 1. There is no public right of way between Highsted Rd and Brenchley Rd in Sittingbourne *despite* one being on OS maps. Photo 1 is a screenshot from Kent's rights of way map. The line goes through a couple of schools and possibly a hospital, you can see the heavy fencing online in satellite views.
Problem 2. Highsted Rd south of Sittingbourne. Might be walkable but bends, hedges, speed and likely volume of traffic looks uncomfortable, possibly unsafe.
Problem 3. There's no way through to Cromer's Wood along that lane from Broadoaks Road. The public access is along the other lane just to the north.
Problem 4. Even if you are ok with the above there's only one place to stop on this route and it's unlikely to be much use for walkers. The Blacksmiths Arms in Wormshill is closed Mon, Tue, only open in the evenings otherwise, and only has food Fri and Sat when booking is required. They make a point of saying No Vegetarian Food on the menu which is an interesting choice.
I've uploaded an alternative. Although it hasn't yet been tested it does have multiple places to eat and quiet approaches to both Lenham and Sittingbourne.
