Description
A different approach to LenSit 1 avoiding the no-pavement part of Highsted Rd just outside Sittingbourne and the mystery disappearing right of way between Brenchley Rd and Highsted Rd within Sittingbourne.
This version is marginally shorter and more off road than LenSit 1 once you include the detours needed to get around the private land and it comes into Sittingbourne from the south west instead, the same way as verified route GilSit 2. It has more mid route places to stop - mini map 1 (although perhaps the Blacksmiths Arms shouldn't be included as the hours won't be much use to walkers. The tearoom at the model railway site was recommended by two ladies who I met in 2023 while walking GilSit 2. There are no shops or scheduled buses.
Lenham Station isn't near the start point in the village centre (where all shops, pubs, bus stops, etc are). You could save about half a mile using Pilgrims Way, which looks walkable online, and the western part of Lenham - map 2.
Map 3 is where the route uses a short, apparently permissive path down the side of an orchard between Bloody Mary Lane and Stratton Street, just north of the Bredgar Model Railway site (aka Warren Wood?). There are some nearby alternatives if this doesn't work out, take an OS map! Ideally I'd test the route first and upload a version that will work but the original seems flawed and I'm not sure when/if I'll get down there

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
