Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

22 Sep 2024This route is very rural and largely involves paths around the edges of farmland. I started the route from Leaden and there no villages to stop at so it's essential you take plenty to eat and drink with you for the next 10miles. There is a village shop at Leaden.
At Boyton Hall Farm there is a sign stating 'no public access' even though this is Roxwell Footpath 80 (from Essex highways map). I ignored the sign but this may be an issue if the landowner challenges you.
Also, at Brittons Hall Farm southeast of Chignall St. James the landowner has turned the footpath into a scrapyard and blocked passage through (Chignall Footpath 30).
