I agree with the previous reviewer that many of the routes that we are asked to pioneer seem to have been drawn in an office using only OS maps - and that is why we pioneers have such a tough job! Either footpaths don't exist or you end up on busy roads.... in this case I left Launceston and it was fine until joining the busy A388 by the rugby club, which had too much traffic to be safe until a pavement beside it appeared at Liftondown. Then it was pleasant, if long, miles on country lanes past Lifton and Tinhay, with a few grassy footpaths. The last part is the hardest, with steep footpaths climbing up onto moorland, following the Two Castles Trail. Finally there's road walking again, with some traffic, to reach Lydford. Except as noted - and requiring tolerance of traffic - it's a viable, if long, day's walk.

Walking as a stage on the Trafalgar Way from Falmouth to London. This is mainly a walk on country lanes which are fairly quiet although you do have to keep your wits about you. Perfectly safe to walk if a little uniniteresting. We diverted south towards the end so we could approach lydford through the National Trust managed Lydford gorge , whiteladys waterfall, devils cauldron and approach the village so the first things we saw were the historic church. and castle.

As a days walk, it's not bad. but i'm sure we can find a better route. I am beginning to wonder if a lot of these slow ways walks were just plotted on a PC using OS maps, as there doesn't seem to be much research going into them.

This route is accurate, has no hidden access issues, and is mainly lane walking so safe for most people.
