Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

It's a good and direct route. But Oxford Street on a Saturday is too slow, even for slow ways :-). It also makes no sense to walk the route around Marble Arch as this one does, as it's not a walkable part really. Much better would be to cross right next to Marble Arch. Knioxf 2 does that wrong too, so I've added a Knioxf 3, that also avoids Oxford Street.

Be aware that there are regular Hyde Park events that will prevent you from following this exact route The Park.

I won't give a lower rating however because it is a lovely route; just be aware that you'll need to walk around the closed-off areas and that may take a few more minutes.

I walked this route from Oxford Circus. It’s a very good route between the two points with two very distinct halves. The first takes you along Oxford Street, which I find is always more pleasant than I think it’ll be. The second is through Hyde Park, which is, of course, lovely.

Some of the crossings and navigation around Marble Arch are a bit confusing, especially while the Marble Arch Mound is still around.

Otherwise, I had no navigational troubles and thought it was a perfectly pleasant and lovely route!.
