Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

16 May 2023DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ROUTE. The plotting is appalling.
1. From Kirkham it follows the course of a Roman Road built two thousand years ago and no longer in existence. It doesn’t show up on the 1:25,000 OS Map and on the ground it would mean hacking through hedges, swimming through a pond and ghosting through walls of buildings.
2. The plotter of this route may not have known, but there is now a major road construction project of a link road crossing the route between Salwick and Cottam which currently obliterates any possibility of walking through.
3. Between Cottam and Tanterton the plotter has treated a parish boundary line as though it is a footpath, when it actually runs through a string of back gardens.
