03 Oct 2023Steady away start from Kippax, footpath easy to follow until you come to the farm yard.
Do not go in the yard look for a small path next to the field fence between the nettles, on the right as you look at it. Takes you around the farm a short distance, over a stile and back on a main path.
When crossing the massive field before the hall aim for the outbuilding, walk down the side , through the gate and along the path. At a large yellow topped pole, turn right and follow the track through the woods. Comes out at top of the hill from Ledsham.
Then its all road, under old A1, over A1M, then left onto minor road to South Milford.
No pavement alas, you need to keep your wits about you for traffic.
Once you reach Milford , footpaths appear for the rest of the way. Drag up the hill to Sherburn cross roads and finish.
Not a bad walk, but the long section on the highways spoils it and the twisty sections towards Milford make it potentially hazardous. Be aware if you do this section, otherwise steady walk.
