27 Oct 2023I was recently here in poor weather, compared to a number of visits on better days. The route from Rhyl to Kinmel Bay is pretty obvious as it's simply a case of following promenade paths, linked by the lovely Pont y Ddraig footbridge. The only improvement I would suggest would be immediately after crossing Pont y Ddraig, where you should follow the wooden walkway onto the sand dunes at Horton's Nose. This gives you a few minutes break from the hard surfaced promenade and despite the modest elevation, it's actually quite a good viewpoint. Photos aren't great, so go on a sunny day!.

04 Jul 2023 (edited 05 Jul 2023)Walked from Kinmel Bay to Rhyl. A good direct route, fully surfaced with no steps or stiles. Note that part of the promenade in Rhyl is currently closed for flood barrier work, but this section is easily avoided by staying on West Parade. Note that this means that I was unable to verify the route from the promenade to the clock tower - I suspect the straight line oversimplifies this.
The route is simple and easy to follow - apart from the two ends we are on the Wales coast path which is also an NCN cycle track.
