Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Apr 2023This route recommends following the old railway track through the Ken Hill Estate. This is not permissible as it passes through conservation areas and private land. I have told you this before but you are still publishing it. KinHun2 is fine but KinHun1 will lead to trouble.

16 Nov 2022I haven't walked this route but wanted to share information that we've received about it.
Kinhun two has a better route for avoiding the blockage mentioned in the previous review. Depending on which way you are travelling Kinhun two takes you through Ken Hill Wood and past Lodge Hill Farm and onto a path along the coast. This misses the section with the Heacham Sewage Works.
This gpx file also has sections which are poorly drawn and not following paths or roads. Examples are through Heacham and Dersingham. So please take care. Kinhun two is better drawn and has slight differences so I can't comment on which versions might be better.

14 Sep 2021We did this walk over two days, breaking the journey at the Feathers Hotel in Dersingham. The part of the walk on day 1 from Babingley through the Sandringham forest to Dersingham was particularly enjoyable, offering welcome shade from the hot weather.
Heading north from Dersingham on day 2 towards Ingoldisthorpe the Slow Ways route implies walking on the Chalk Pit Road for about 2.5 Km, though there is a footpath on the west side of the road (behind the hedge) which is more pleasant to walk on. We couldn’t understand why the route took such a circuitous loop around Snettisham (unless it is to eat at one of the excellent restaurants there!), so we crossed the B1440 at Ingoldisthorpe and took the footpath north to Southgate. We stopped at The Granary café at the junction of Station Road and the A149, and then re-joined the Slow Ways route at the very beautiful Snettisham Woods. The path skirts the woods and then heads north for about 2 Km until it forks right onto The Fenway towards Heacham (just before the Anglian Water treatment facility). Unfortunately the path is blocked at this point by a very large tree trunk and barbed wire fence. This can be avoided by heading east on the Dunston Drove path at Siberia Belt, around 500 metres south of the blockage.
Overall we enjoyed the route, but with the very warm weather we were glad to have done it over 2 days.
