Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

14 Nov 2021Two bits of bad luck, two bits of poor judgement. Route started well in Dudley, the detour to avoid following the main road didn't seem too arduous. However, having rejoined the main road
1 The route tries to take you into the cemetery via a side which is completely fenced off. Google Street View shows this clearly!
2 Having got in to Canal Park, rather than following the reasonably weather proof cycle path, the route goes down a boggy uneven footpath by the side of the canal (not a towpath). This in itself wouldn't fail the route, but it is the worst of two options.
3 On the far side of Canal Park, the footpath is closed for restoration. A temporary issue
4 In Woodside, a route past a factory no longer exists as the factory has been demolished and new houses built (Google Street View does not show this). These houses are still under construction and the area is off limits.
