Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Most of the route is a paved path shared with cyclists that goes along the road. There is a section that's on a road with very little traffic (near Kincardine) and a point in which you have to cross a B road (see two photos with green arrows). The way the route exits/enters Kincardine as proposed in the map is incorrect, you should not attempt to cross the A985 as indicated in the map. Instead:
- If you're walking into Kincardine from Culross, follow the pathway that keeps going parallel to the road until the safe pedestrian crossing near the Kincardine bridge. It will lead you to North Approach Road, from which you can easily walk to the centre of the village.
- If you're walking out of Kincardine, don't go in Walker Street. Instead, following North Approach Road towards the South until you see the traffic lights where you can cross the A985 and go under the Fife Coastal Path Arch, then turn left to join the path to Culross (indicated by a blue dotted line in the Open Street Map).

Easy walk, tarmac path along B road, plenty of cyclists.
