Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

A really pleasant stroll, across some lovely green open spaces, the best being Freyent Park, and around Welsh Harp Reservoir. Definitely not appropriate for road bikes, wheelchairs or pushchairs (lots of grass, and would be very muddy in winter/early spring or after rain. The route as laid out here works well!.

This is Kinbre One, but with the navigation in Fryent Country Park and near Welsh Harp fixed, as there were several places that were impassible.
I walked this from Kingsbury to Brent Cross. The first part goes up the hill in Fryent Country park, and although steep, the views at the top are worth it. It also gets a little bit soggy in places. After a quick stretch through some residential streets you end up on some playing fields. Navigation these was a bit tricky, and some paths were hard to spot. At the end is the Welsh Harp reservoir though, which is well worth a rest break. From there on, it goes through less interesting residential streets and across the North Circular to Brent Cross.
