Description

This route is a slightly changed version of Kilkiv(0ne). it avoids a dangerous section of the canal, which is marked on the map and on the ground as The Cuckoo Way. So when walking from Kiverton and you reach the A618 Rotherham Road at Norwood. Do not go straight across following the Cuckoo Way sin onto the towpath. But just a couple of metres to your right you will see a footpath sign. Take this, it leads onto Bailey Drave which goes around a small industial estate on your right as it bends sharply right gos straight on to the footpath in the same direction of travel. You are now on a safe section of towpath. Coming from the other direction i.e. Kilermarsh have walked arounf the canal loop just continue down Bailey Drive heading east until you see the path toyour right just before the road junction. All this said. This is quite a nice route, a bit longer than Kilkiv(two) as it avoids the main road and instead looops around following the cana l towpath. A safe and reasonably quiet route, which can become a little boggy after heavy rain

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

  1. Complete the survey training.
