Description
This route offers a scenic walk from Kidsgrove to Newcastle-under-Lyme. With a peaceful walk alongside the Trent and Mersey canal, closely following the Westport Lake which has a picturesque view, and a visitor centre café for a break.
The route also traverses Wolstanton Marsh, where you’ll find a well-maintained path that’s perfect for walkers and cyclists alike. After crossing the marsh, the route continues along Sparch Hollow Street to reach Hempstall Lane. Which has a hidden walking and cycling lane and is close to the town centre adding a bit of variety and extra scenery to the walk. The route follows along roads, canals, and lakes, it is an entertaining and worthwhile route to pursue
