31 Aug 2024 (edited 13 Sep 2024)A pleasant walk between Keyworth and Cotgrave.
The first part is a walk along a residential road followed by a quiet bridleway. After crossing the A606 the walk goes along a quiet lane with grass verges either side. Next the walk goes through Cotgrave Forest. The next part is through an arable field to Cotgrave with good views of Nottingham and the Trent Valley. The final section is a walk through Cotgrave to the town centre.
Daily, regular bus services serve both ends of the walk.

10 Jun 2022My third Slow Ways walk of the day, I walked this as the third leg of a walk from West Bridgford to Cotgrave via Clifton and Keyworth. This was the best of the three - a pleasant walk on fairly good tracks with no major accessibility issues. One slight concern is the crossing of the A606, which might be difficult at busy times, but I don't believe any better crossing points are available, having tried most of them in the last couple of years. There are a couple of small hills to cross, but these offer pretty good views by Nottinghamshire standards.

08 Jun 2022The bridleway out of Keyworth had a lot of dog poo on it and there was a fairly tricky road crossing about a third of the way through the route but apart from that it was a very pleasant, pretty easy walk through the countryside. A nice mix of open fields, gentle hills and woodlands.

30 May 2022I walked this route from Keyworth. The route starts on quiet residential roads before heading off across the fields, across the Network Rail test track to reach the busy A606. After crossing (carefully !) the route follows the verge of the quiet Laming Gap Lane. At the sharp bend (car parking) the route turns onto an obvious track through the plantations. After leaving the plantations, a footpath leads across the fields to the edge of Cotgrave. Quiet lanes lead to the centre. Very enjoyable.
