Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

11 Jul 2021This is a well recognised route in the main used by many locals. I would recommend the first part between Keighley town centre and Park Wood be changed to avoid walking up a busy Park Road, through an area of high criminality, and a steep muddy path from the flats into the woods. I think it's also shorter.
As an alternative from railway station take 1st left down Low Mill Lane. Under railway bridge turn right up steep path alongside Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. At top Apple St leads to Parkwood St. Cross and turn left, then go 1st right up Dundas St to unadopted Kendal St. Turn immediate right through gate up cobbled path into Park Wood (sign to be erected here). Follow path up hill to rejoin original route on Dale View Road.

11 Jun 2021Route is not suitable for wheels as there are steps and uneven paths and cobbles, kiss gates and steep inclines. I would recommend a route along the canal as an alternative. Great views on this route and enjoyable but hard to navigate in Keighley itself and when almost at Bingley due to the number of paths around.
