01 Aug 2022 (edited 03 Aug 2022)I walked this route from Kegworth to Long Eaton, and although most of it is fine there are a few places where small changes would help.
I managed to lose the correct line through the gravel workings north of the A453 - as Stephen says the right of way line is no longer possible, as new gravel pits have submerged part of it, but the waymarking of the new route (which is actually shorter if you find it first time) is inadequate when going from south to north, and although it is tempting to create an alternative route that shows the current line, work on the site is ongoing so it is possible the route may change again.
There are also two small problems with the route through Sawley. North of Draycott Road, the path right of the Coop is blocked where the right of way ends and I couldn't see any route into the park, so I retreated and walked up Grosvenor Avenue. The second problem is that beyond Wilmot Street the path through the allotments is now blocked by a locked gate, so the path opposite Rufford Road has to be used instead.
So although I completed most of this route, I can't recommend it wholeheartedly, though the problems are probably not sufficient to merit a flag,
PS After writing this review, I decided to create a KEGLON 2 which uses more of the canal and river paths and fewer roads - it is slightly longer, and I don't see any of the problems with this one as a show stopper so I think they can coexist. Once the new line through the gravel pits has been redrawn on the official maps it may be worth replacing this route with a corrected version - in the meantime there is always the option of staying on the lane.

30 May 2022I walked this route from Long Eaton. It begins on the pavement of the main road but soon takes to the canal towpath. After rejoining the road, and crossing over the canal, a footpath between the houses leads to a crossing under the railway and then more quiet residential roads lead to the bridge over the river Trent. The footway here is quite narrow, but you are off the road. After the bridge there is a footpath around the perimeter of the marina (avoiding the roadside) before following the quiet Warren Lane southwards. Half a mile after the railway bridge (at a sharp bend) the route joins a right of way across pasture fields. After the lane crossing there is a diverted path through the gravel workings, marked with wayposts. Some of this is quite rough underfoot. Beyond the quarry we follow the quiet Long Lane to the bridge over the A453. After the bridge, a farm track alongside the main road leads to a footpath across the fields. The route rejoins Long Lane and enters Kegworth on the pavements of quiet residential roads. There are shops and refreshments in Long Eaton, Old Sawley and Kegworth.
