Uploading because IvyBuc 1 appears to be unsafe. The first reviewer didn't think the road walking was safe/comfortable near Glazebrook (Hotel?). I don't have any local knowledge but I think this must be what they did. They say they turned off through Ladywood and joined the Dartmoor Way (presumably turning off before the dangerous stretch and heading towards South Brent?). It's a big change to make, missing 1.3 mi / 2 km of the published route and it adds an extra 1 mi / 1.6 km to the total length. So I think they were being too kind! I think it's probably more helpful for the next few people to attempt this instead.

South Brent is the major mid-route opportunity for a break (bakery, Co-op, pub, and more) or a bus (GOLD or 38 routes). There also seems to be a public toilet. You can pick up both those buses in Bittaford, or just the 38 with a detour from near Dean Prior.

The change near Glazebrook/South Brent reduced the road walking but still less than 1/4 is actually off road. It is largely using country lanes which probably makes it easier in wetter conditions. But if it was me testing it for the first time and the conditions were fair I might go up into the hills between S Brent and Ivybridge. Perhaps just for a few miles over Ughborough Beacon, or maybe around Corringdon Ball to join the Two Moors Way on Glasscombe Ball. It wouldn't add much distance, though it might slow you down
