Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 Jun 2022The nene way has been re routed and so detours were necessary and this route cannot be properly followed anymore, so a new route is needed.

23 Jun 2022Had to take a few detours from the mapped route due to the Nene way being rerouted with the opening of the green way some years ago, so some old parts are now impassable.
Route is pavements to start. The first detour (See pic) is over a road bridge just after that you can get back onto the route following the river which is a country track.
After the lock as you come to an old railway bridge is where you detour again (See pic) as the Nene Way now follows the Green way (old train track) on a nice gravel path, you soon reach the road and pick up the route again.
This route is pavements tracks and field walking so not suitable for pushchair/wheelchair.
