Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

19 Jun 2023I'm not sure about this route it is long and quite taxing, it passes through some wonderful countryside but it is very dull.
You will encounter stiles, gates, kissing gates, bridges, a railway crossing, stepping stones over the Wharfe, rough paths, minor roads, and nettles on this walk. There were fields containing cattle and sheep as well.
The initial section to Ben Rhydding was quite dull being along a busy road. There was a nice cafe in the center of Burley in Wharfedale, opposite the post office.
The route is uneventful, if a little tedious up until ///resembles.wardrobe.fluffed. The gate here has been deliberately been stopped from opening by barbed wire being wrapped around the gate. The footpath is on the local PROW map (North Yorkshre) so you could clime the gate of bring some wire cutters. I chose to follow a visible footpath to ///moisture.webcams.sofas and then head up the field (contained cows) to the original route at ///timer.wheat.minimums. I chose a route to keep away from the cows.
You then had a short walk along a very busy and narrow stretch of road (B6161) which wasn't pleasant.
As you approached Stainburn you pass through the church grounds which was very pretty.
