26 Aug 2021There's some issues with this route, starting at the Coalville end, it takes two long foot paths which are more like long alleyways, sandwiched between the fences of back gardens on either side. I think most people would be probably avoid these and be happier walking along the reasonably quiet residential streets - Gutteridge Street and Highfield Road.
Further along, the route takes a footpath from St Mary's Avenue to Frearson Road, but there isn't a footpath between these roads. The route needs to continue to the end of St Mary's Avenue and onto Manor Road.
Thereafter the route crosses a number of country fields, so unlikely to be suitable at night or in wet weather. An alternative would to be take Midland Road to Elistown, then Ibstock road and Leicester road over to Ibstock, these have paved foot paths.
