Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

28 Oct 2021This route seems to be a good example of what a slow way is. It’s a 10 mile plus route off main roads or on pavements in towns. Hard surface in places and more cinder track and subject to weather in a few areas. I’d only mark it down as it maybe lacks interesting scenery in places, but in a route this long that is alway likely.

21 Jun 2021A nice though unspectacular walk along the Transpennine trail. Nearly all of the route, including through Hull is off road. The TPT is well used by cyclists but as the route is almost completely straight and fairly wide this was fine for walking. Good pub lunch at Railway Inn, New Ellerby.

19 Jun 2021Have only walked the section from Ellerby Gatehouse to Hornsea but this is a well used route through lovely East Yorkshire countryside and is especially well maintained at the Hornsea end. Good pubs at New Ellerby and Great Hatfield both serving food and an interesting late Georgian church just off the route at Goxhill.
