Description

This route is very similar to HudBri one, but slightly tweaked to make it a little shorter and easier to walk. The areas I have changed are (i) to shorten the route across to Norman Park cutting out some unnecessary ascent and descent, (ii) using the paths through Norman Park rather than the streets next to it, (iii) using a slightly shorter route through the wood south of Netheroyd Hill then the pavement of Bradford Road (the latter to avoid steps and unnecessary steeper sections) and (iv) to shorten the route through Upper Fell Gleave, cutting out a section where the paths on the ground are indistinct and difficult to follow

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

This is a route that suggested itself to me as I was walking HudBri one yesterday. I have not tested all of the amended sections but overall it looks easier to walk, and is definitely slightly shorter and has a little less ascent and descent. See HudBri one for a more detailed review with pictures.
