13 Jun 2024This route is a fail because it does not follow a right of way, it's a parish boundary, from Houghton Ingarsby Lane to The Dale Billesdon Coplow.

04 Nov 2023This was a reasonably challenging walk so not to be ventured into lightly (not helped by the weather, admittedly). It's a little tricky to find the starting point and once you get into the wooded area (fairly early on), there's no clear path and you're literally fighting the undergrowth to get through (I gave up and climbed over a fence into a field to escape and get back on track). Much of the walk is through farmers' fields (signposted footpaths) but you can't just walk through the field because it's boggy or pre-planted so you have to skirt around the edges which adds a lot more distance. Also be aware that there's a fair amount of gradient. My final point is the last part of the walk which is a mixture of road/verge walking on a reasonably busy road. Always good to be out in the great outdoors but I'd definitely felt I'd done a proper day's walking.
