Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

05 Mar 2023Walked this route northwards from Campden today. Chose this version after reading the review for the route one, and indeed was glad to get off the main road as we approached Honeybourne. Thankfully, there were no issues with any dogs. Overall a lovely walk which takes in some classic Cotswold character over its 4.75 miles.
The short hill climb along the Cotswold Way out of Chipping Campden was a good way to warm up leaving the town on a winter morning. The path immediately after Kingcombe Lane had recently been resurfaced with the distinctive Cotswold stone making it stand out even on a grey day like today.
At the top of Dover's Hill, the route takes you downhill steeply through The Lynches Wood to take you to the village of Weston Subedge. The route then follows the road north past a pub which wasn't open at the time we went past. After walking through a few fields the route drops you out at the Weston Road which does have some fast traffic. Fortunately you only have approx. 100m to walk along the busy road, before taking a path to the left which leads to a narrow alley between houses to get you safely to the end point.
A really good walk actually, and if it weren't for the (admittedly short) section of busy road, would get five stars. There are gates, stiles and steps and a footbridge on the route, which I definitely would recommend.
