Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

29 May 2024I was in a group of 10 (from my work place) that took part in this walk. Overall we enjoyed the picturesque walk from Holt to Sheringham, however we felt it would not be suitable for all.
Pros:
Parking - Parking in Holt was straightforward with several all-day options (cost not too bad either).
Scenic views - the countryside and coastal views were stunning, making the walk very enjoyable. If you can cope with the steps, I definitely recommend the view from on top of the gazebo at Sheringham Park.
Moderate difficulty - the distance might challenge less experienced walkers, but the terrain was generally manageable with no significant hills until the coastal end.
Facilities access - at one of the campsites we walked through, at the National Park and of course Holt & Sheringham itself.
The finish line - ending in Sheringham was a nice location to finish at with the shops, beach & places to eat. We certainly rewarded ourselves with fish & chips.
Return travel - if you don't fancy the walk back, it was easier enough to get a bus straight back to Holt.
Cons:
Accessibility - this walk is not ideal for those with prams or mobility aids due to the uneven paths and some tricky spots.
Odd detours - walking through the camping sites felt a bit odd, however it was very quiet when we went. There were some parts we had to walk along the road side which some may be uncomfortable with.
*Side note - after walking through the 2nd campsite we did get lost, and the Slow Ways & Google maps could not help. However, we found if you knew the general direction of the National Park it did not take long to get back on track.

13 Jan 2022Almost accessible to all; a few gates and steep sections exclude wheelchairs or powered scooters, but the entirety of the path is completely doable on foot, and mostly by bike, but cyclists are not allowed onto the Coastal Path.
Lovely walk through woods, including Sheringham Park; along the coast with a few gradual climbs, before descending into Sheringham.
Good shops and transport links at each end, and with the odd shop along the way, with the option of using National Trust facilities in Sheringham Park.
