11 Dec 2021I can't say I loved this Slow Ways route. It was safe, accessible, interesting, and reasonably accurate. Still, it was too indirect for my liking, and it felt more like a meander than the most direct route between Holborn and Liverpool Street. The fact that it meandered away from centres of activity made the route pretty quiet, too; this can be a good thing, but I like a little urban life on my walk, too!
Also, when I walked the route on a Friday evening, all of the parks and gardens were closed, but it was perfectly easy to just not walk through them.

17 Sep 2021I agree with the previous reviewer - an interesting and meandering route along quieter streets. Building work at Smithfield is still going on (Sept 2021). Plenty of facilities and history either directly on the route or nearby.

01 May 2021This is an interesting and meandering route that keeps mainly to quiet back streets and passes close to three tube stations on route - Farringdon, Barbican and Moorgate, so useful for connecting to those. Currently (April '21) there is a lot of building work around Smithfields and some pavements are closed but the route is still accessible. If you are interested in architecture this route takes in a lot of styles from early to modern. It is worth the detour around Charterhouse Square to take in the old courtyards. If you are familiar with the area there are various alternative streets that could be followed without adding to the distance, if you are not I probably wouldn't recommend this route at night.
