Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

17 Sep 2022Walked this route eastwards today from Henley in Arden. I really enjoyed this walk which takes in some lovely villages, great views, a short section of the unique Stratford-upon-Avon Canal, a brilliant pub (New Inn) at Norton Lindsey amongst a few other points of interest.
The main issues preventing me from rating it 5 stars being a new housing development in Hampton Magna which forces you to find a detour around the site to regain the track towards the A46 & Warwick. There are also a few very short sections on roads, and also a not-for-the-feint-hearted chicken run across the A46 Warwick bypass!
There are a lot of stiles, gates and fences on the route, as well as a few sections which were fairly overgrown. There's a few steps to negotiate, a few fields with livestock and you also pass right through the Heart of England poultry farm. It's also worth checking that there isn't a meeting on at Warwick racecourse, as I understand the route there gets closed when the races are on.
The Crabmill at Preston Bagot was in the process of being demolished when I went past, apparently victim to a fire. A short detour at Claverdon can give you the option of one of two pubs there, but the real ale selection at the New Inn in Norton Lindsey was pretty impressive and highly recommended.
