Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

25 Mar 2022Very flat route from Havant Station to Hayling seafront along a disused railyway line "The Billy trail". There is vehicular parking at either end, and at two places along the route apart . Vehicles cannot use this trail. The first 4 miles from Havant station are good quality surface and used by a lot of pedestrians and cyclists. The section after Langstone bridge down to Hayling station road can get very wet and muddy during the winter. Again, very well used by pedestrians and cyclists, and shared bridle path with horse riders. The last mile to the seafront is paved. A pleasant walk with great views across to Portsmouth with several accesses to enter / leave the trail.

26 Jun 2021Mostly gravel, some small grassy sections. Slightly narrow in places near the Havant end. Fairly well used by pedestrians near either end of the route. A couple of access points along the way. Very pleasant trail to walk.
