Description
A shorter, and greener (yes, really!), option than Harhou One. The obvious difference is that this route follows the A4, where Harhou One deviates to avoid it; the saving is about a kilometre. The A4 is a busy dual carriageway, however the pavements are wide with verges.
The green credentials come by passing through Lampton Park at Hounslow, and Berkeley Meadows at Cranford.
Pavements and surfaced paths in the parks. Refreshment opportunities along the way

24 Nov 2024I walked from Harlington to Hounslow on a windy day.
Not a fan of walking alongside busy trunk roads, not much to recommend with regards to beauty or interest.
But direct, easy to navigate, safe and makes the best of a very urban route. There is a nice park near Hounslow. Shops and resting places along the way.
Good for wheels apart from Berkley Meadows, which can be avoided.

21 Feb 2024I walked the Harlington to Hounslow route on a mild February. I started at Harlington, having arriving by bus (this is well served by buses).
The earlier reviews are still accurate so I won’t repeat the detail. Added a photo of crocuses flowering on a green ina pleasant estate.
The route goes past and through open spaces, parks and housing estates including stages along the A4 - so only a three due to this. Uses good footpaths through out.
This is next to the Heathrow flight path.

14 May 2023I walked this on a grey morning, from Hounslow to Harlington. No rain recently.
From Hounslow Central the route towards Lampton Park, where a fun fair was just breaking up. This caused a few annoyances are trucks and cars where on the footpath in the park. Although the route tries to avoid main roads as much as possible, the slog along the A4 towards Heathrow was particularly unpleasant, but safe. (photo #1-#4)
After crossing the River Crane, the walk finally moved away (photo #5) from a busy road, first along Cranford Park (photo #6, #7) for a little, and then along a lane (with pavement) towards Harlington (photo #8, #9).

31 May 2022For all this route goes along the A4 for a bit, I prefer it to Harhou One because it is direct - and it goes through Lampton Park too, which makes it greener than One.
Walked Hounslow to Harlington.
There are refreshments on the way, at the A4/A30 junction.
I didn’t find the A4 section too annoying, the pavements are wide and road crossings safe, providing you follow the route as drawn and cross where indicated.
After turning off to go through Berkeley Meadows and Cranford Lane, things get quieter. Could hear skylarks and feel the beginning of the edge of London.
Flat route, good pavements and paths throughout.
