Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

06 Jan 2022Overall, this is a route only accessible on foot (not suitable for bikes, buggies etc. except for some shorter sections. It can be very muddy in places (especially between Coleman Green and Symondshyde Farm via Titnol's Wood, where the route chosen is impassible currently due to deep mud. But the biggest problem is that a crucial section of this route does not exist in reality. It suggests there is a way across the A1 (M) between Hatfield Garden Village and Hatfield via a marked bridleway. There isn't and anyone following the route will find themselves faced with a dead end along side the motorway. Don't know who suggested this route, but there's no way they walked it in reality. Avoid by walking to end of Green Lanes and cross by footbridge above A1 tunnel.
