25 Sep 2023I'm not sure why this route has been flagged for safety. I thought it was safe throughout - there's one place where it's necessary to cross an A road but there are islands and it wasn't that busy when I did it, in the middle of a weekday.
As well as the Charing Cross Hospital, the route passes the Queen's Club - probably the second-best known Tennis club in the country but it also claims to be the first multi-sport venue in the world.
And a little further on, it passes the Clem Attlee housing estate, in which the buildings (and some streets) are named after past Labour party politicians.
Also worth noting (as another reviewer has already mentioned) that it passes through the Margravine cemetery, so it isn't a 24/7 route. But it is a pleasant one.

26 Apr 2023A lot of traffic both car and foot!
Still an interesting area.

26 Apr 2023Walked this route Hammersmith to Fulham and once away from the busy traffic around Hammersmith station the route is quieter, especially through the cemetery, which as other reviewers have said is only open during the day which varies depending on the time of year.

17 Nov 2021Decent route, reasonably direct and with a pleasant section through the Margravine Cemetery behind Charing Cross Hospital. I've been stuck on a bus between Fulham and Hammersmith, more than once, for longer than this route takes to walk.
The cemetery is daylight hours only, so not a 24/7 route.
The only part I would change is to walk straight through Hammersmith Broadway shopping centre, between the Meeting Point and the top of Fulham Palace Road, rather than walk outside around the Broadway, which is always very traffic-y. The choc-a-bloc Fulham Palace Road can't really be avoided, and that is more than enough fumes for me.
At the Fulham end, some pedestrianised streets behind the North End Road are very pleasant, and made me wish more could be done to reclaim streets for people and local business.
