09 Apr 2022I walked this from Camden. I was already aware from the other reviews that the actual route described could not be walked but thought I'd see if the route around was obvious. Approaching from the other direction you enter a nature reserve which allows ingress but comes to a gated dead end after a minute or so of walking.

28 Jan 2022I walked from Hampstead to Camden.
As others have mentioned there is no way through the hospital, use the road (see map) but easy to navigate from there onwards. Roads chosen are fairly quiet and zig-zag away from the main streets as far as possible. I think this is navigable by wheelchair although there is the usual street furniture to work around.
Small parklet on the way can be walked around after dark.
Not a bad walk with lots of interest.

05 Dec 2021I’d generally agree with the description of the route as “fine but rather uninspiring”. I walked fine route from Hampstead Heath to Camden Town.
Other than the bit around the hospital the other two reviewers mentioned (I stayed to Fleet and Lawn roads), the route was perfectly navigable, entirely paved, and completely safe. It was a bit zig-zaggy and I think it could be made more direct, too. (For example, instead of turning onto Prince of Wales road, the route could probably just stick to Chalk Farm Road and make a straight shot for Camden Town!).

26 May 2021This route felt less like a meander through urban and natural landscapes and more of a zig-zag of direct city roads connecting small patches of green. The path takes you through lots of estate housing, which was quiet and peaceful.
The turn off Fleet road is not apparent, instead I walked down to Parkhill road and continued from there. There is a small section that passes through a school area between Parkhill road and Maitland Park Villas, which will probably be too crowded to use at times when the students are heading out or coming in. This path has fence segments in it to prevent bikes from using it, which could also pose an issue for strollers or wheelchairs. On the whole the path is paved and flat, the biggest obstacles being road crossings and uneven curbs.

24 Apr 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)As a route between the two points it is perfectly fine, however rather uninspiring. I cannot think of an alternative and in this area you are going to struggle to find one that does include lots of green space away from roads. However the roads that were walked were very quiet as they were mainly residential streets.
There is an error on the route as the turn off fleet road leads to a deadend within the hospital. The route tries to go into woodland but you cannot access it from this side as far as we could find. Instead you should turn down Lawn Road and if you wish to enter the wood as a detour you can do so from here.
