Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 Mar 2023I started at Horsley Station and joined the route by walking 1 km next to the railway. To avoid walking down Ripley Road (no pavement) I diverted through Hatchlands Park (map). This is National Trust property (with toilets and café next to the house) but the park is open 363 days a year from 10am to 5pm. Ideally you should be a NT member or have a local resident permit but there are no locked gates. There are no stiles but a few kissing gates. The route across Clandon Golf Course is not too clear. If you reach the 9th hole you've gone too far and need to turn west! The path around Clandon Park was a little muddy. The path up to Pewley Down is quite steep as is the road into Guildford. In all a very pleasant route with several old churches to explore. Bakery and Budgens store at Horsley Station.
