31 Aug 2023I’m afraid the circumstances (rain, rush hour, and road works) influenced my opinion of this route. It was just as well I had company on this one or else I really wouldn’t have enjoyed it at all!
There was a lot of unavoidable main road pavement pacing, but there were some sections where the route was able to escape and move to the coast of the Clyde estuary. These were a great consolation as it is so beautiful along that coast.
There were some slight inaccuracies in the plotting, but nothing that made it too difficult to follow. For instance the wiggle at Cartsdyke Roundabout was more exaggerated than needed, but a wiggle was needed to avoid a high wall along the A8.
There was interesting infrastructure related to shipbuilding and shipping, such as the lovely old sugar warehouses, next to the horrible busy road.
To be fair, in nice weather I would have enjoyed all but the middle third which is alongside the A8.

02 Mar 2023Review of Grepor one (Greenock to Port Glasgow)
I walked this route in reverse (i.e. Port Glasgow to Greenock) in late February 2023. It is a very straightforward route which follows the Clyde Coastal Path for most of the way. After leaving the centre of Port Glasgow (near the railway station), the route heads across a supermarket car park and then crosses a busy dual carriageway (pedestrian crossing provided). The next kilometre is a pleasant stroll on a tarmac path overlooking the Clyde. However the route then diverts inland to pass some dry docks and a large marina. This section is along the busy A8, and although a wide pavement is provided, the going is not particularly pleasant. Quite soon the route returns to the waterside and follows it until a final deviation into the centre of Greenock. The route is well signposted, well-surfaced and suitable for all. The views are wonderful.
