Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

DO NOT USE. Has the potential makings of a walkable Slow Way if the access issues can be sorted. Started from Great Wyrley. The plotting isn't very good (not accurate) which is quite irritating but I was able to follow the route until I got to SK 0010 0741. There the footpath seemed to disappear and despite my efforts proved unwalkable (uneven and overgrown) despite being clearly marked as a right of way (Photo 1). To see if I could access the path further up I followed the track round but was met with numerous "no right of way" signs (other photos). I went to the other side of the copse to see if the footpath could be picked up (Photo 2) but all I could see were fields of horses with no footpath marked where it should be. On a separate point, having checked Google Maps I'm not actually sure if the point where the route meets Watling Street can actually be accessed. Either way this route is a firm "no". Footpath violation was reported via Ramblers app.
