Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

26 Aug 2022A very enjoyable walk, but there were two places where the route waypoints did not seem to be achieveable. One was on the Transpennine Trail where it seemed to want me to go through a fence onto an adjacent path, but no access was visible. A second was on the main Pennine Way. The OS map shows two alternative paths around a hill. The one with the official Pennine Way seemed to be overgrown and invisible, so I took the other one.
I have created a second route with these two fixes.

21 Jul 2023It would be helpful if you review your own route (something that is actively encouraged by SlowWays) because as it stands, this flawed version is closer to being approved. I hope to walk a version of this one at some point.

07 Feb 2024I walked the Glomel2 yesterday and understood what Steve meant about the exit from the Longdendale Trail. The GPX suggests there is a path to the left. To get down to the adjacent path you must actually exit the trail to the right and go through a tunnel.
