Description
This route is very similar to GloMel one and two, but uses easy access points to the Longdendale Trail that shorten the distance. Other minor changes are to use a shortcut path that links the Pennine Way and Kirkless Way without climbing back to the main road, and to cut out a few little paths that are more trouble than they are worth.
It is a long and challenging route with a lot of rough ground, ascent and descent, the path at Laddow Rocks is exposed and needs care and a good head for heights, and it has stream crossings that may be dangerous when the water is high, but there is no sensible alternative to using the Pennine Way for the central section, and the Pennine Way has flagstones throughout all of the wetter sections

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
