05 Feb 2024I walked from Gerrards Cross to Chorleywood. The weather was generally calm and dry; there were a couple of muddy patches (especially on the outskirts of Chorleywood) but the walk was generally easy underfoot. There is a dual carriageway to cross not long after leaving Gerrards Cross but it is a long straight section of road, and there is a large central reservation to wait on. There are a lot of stiles, and a couple of steepish sections of hill to contend with. I enjoyed noting that at one point, the public footpath goes through someone's garden; this footpath is still useable but the route goes around the outside of the fence, which is also a clearly established path.
Apart from that, my overall impression was a pleasant walk that was pretty easy to navigate and not bad underfoot.

10 Apr 2023I walked from Gerrards Cross to Chorleywood.
A short walk along the high street to a passageway then through woods across The Misbourne and across a golf course before many passages through Chalfont St Peter. Then a mix of fields (llamas & donkeys) woods and a garden to Old Shire Lane. This lane had 'road closed' signs at either end and was very quiet, but it is walkable. The road had been Fly-tipped almost blocking the way in 2 places (perhaps that's why the signs were there). More farm tracks and a steep uphill (20%) track over open fields just before entering the outskirts of Chorleywood via small backstreet passages. You just nudge the common along a narrow rooty path before walking the road to the Station.
This is a lovely walk, very varied over undulating terrain with some short steep parts.
Stiles (some quite rickety) and very narrow parts make this inaccessible to wheels.

09 Oct 2022I walked this on a crisp and sunny autumn morning, from Chorleywood to Gerrard's Cross
This is a stunning route with lots of variety, and very little walking along pavement. There are a few lanes, but they were nearly deserted.
From Chorleywood you'll need to climb a little to get onto the Common for a short stretch, and then after some walking along residential roads, you'll end up in some alley way public footpaths. After the allotments the route then goes through some undulating and pleasant fields. There are some hills involved while going through woods, with some being a little steep. Then there is a very quiet lane, which had lovely light when I walked it. Nearly 0 cars, except for a very short section. After that, back along fields. One of them had some horses. After a while it is downhill towards the A413, which you have to follow for about 25 metres, before crossing the Gerrards Cross Golf Club (look out for golf balls!) and along a lake with swans, with a ford at the end. There is a field of nettles (that you can walk around if you want), before crossing the busy A413 and into Gerrards Cross.
