Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

18 Jun 2023A largely pleasant walk with added interest through the nature reserve at Gatley Carr. Care is needed with navigation. Emerging from Gatley Carr up onto the embankment is via steps without a handrail that would be difficult for a Walker with restricted mobility.
The footpath off Longley Lane close to the Siltint building was impassable and we had to retrace our steps through the nearby housing estate to pick up the end of the footpath.
After this there was a winding route through the housing estate. The map and phone app were necessary to find the correct route, but we soon picked up signposted paths that are part of the Manchester Green Trail.
The final section across Simons Bridge and up Ford Lane into Didsbury was varied and an interesting contrast to the earlier sections. We will definitely use this route again.

02 May 2021An interesting route that includes some high quality sections of woodland, wetland, rivers and interesting gardens. It is through built up areas so expect some pavement and section through housing.
