Description
This is a challenging but fabulous route between Fowey and Looe. Mostly following the South West Coast Path, it's a well used trail with stunning views and delightful beaches.
It is a hard route with 800 metres or more of ascent, and even more if you go down to some of the beaches below the path. For context, Scafell Pike (England's highest peak) is 978m.
Polperro is a delightful Cornish fishing village that has lots of places to eat, drink and stay. There are accommodation and refreshment options at Talland and Polruan, and even more at the both ends of the route.
You will need to catch a ferry between Fowey and Polruan.
This route is very similar to Fowloo One, but removes some walking through overgrown fields and is more accurate in places.
A highly recommended route if you don't mind lots of steep ascent!

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

11 Aug 2024This excellent but tough route follows mostly the route as described in Fowloo one. However the route goes around the the headland at Pencarrow Head rather than taking the somewhat sketchy but more direct path to the north - cutting off the headland. The gpx for this route is also more accurate. An excellent day out.

02 Aug 2024This is a BRILLIANT route.
I loved the views and beaches.
There are LOTS steps. I did lots of lunging! A great workout and day out.

02 Aug 2024This is a cracker of a Slow Way! If you're happy with 800-1000 metres of ascent, I can't recommend it highly enough. Pack your swimming trunks and take your time so you can enjoy the gorgeous beaches!
The views along the Cornish coast are awesome and we saw lots of kestrels.
The route is mostly on the South West Coast Path National Trail which is easy to follow. You will need to make sure the foot ferry is running to get between Fowey and Polruan to the west of the route. This does not cost too much and is fun.
Some people will find this route too much. It is one of the hardest of Slow Ways, but it's also one of the most rewarding.
