Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

15 Oct 2022I walked this route as the second leg of a Storrington to Worthing trek via Findon. I didn't have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised.
The first section from Findon Place to the A27 includes a stretch along the Gallops, a green space along the Findon Valley popular with dog walkers. Whoever drew the route clearly knows Worthing well. It uses the more interesting old lanes past Salvington and as many twittens as possible, so keeps away from the main roads and keeps offering little surprises. West Tarring is an historic old corner with its medieval Bishops Palace, fig garden and the church with an impressive old tower.
At the end, the route heads through Liverpool Gardens and past the Desert Quartet, sculptures by Dame Elisabeth Frink and public art of the highest quality.
This route really works as a Slow Way, the only significant obstacle to accessibility is the footbridge over the railway at West Worthing.

21 Aug 2022I ran this Findon to Worthing as the third of three slow ways that created a loop for me to run. A new way out of Findon that I enjoyed and the Gallops is always a great path to walk / run. I altered the route after the train bridge. As a local I took advantage of some quieter roads and a nice park etc that took me back onto the seafront. Tarring road is not the most exciting!.

17 Jul 2021A pleasant walk although a lot of it is on pavements or town paths. There are no stiles but some of the footpaths would be too rough for a wheelchair.
I walked from Worthing (West Tarring) to Findon and the walk becomes much more enjoyable once past the A27. The route is not always clearly marked, hopefully the photos will help.
