06 May 2023Lovely route with some walking by the river, through the park, some fields and some near houses. Only busy road crossing across Trinity Road near Wood End. All roads had footpaths. Couple of kissing gates and one stile. Walked it on a rainy day and not too muddy, recommended.

22 Dec 2021Surprising good walk but inevitably quite a bit of roadside pavement walking. Mostly kissing gates on the field paths, some cross field paths but no significant mud even after a fair bit of rain. From Fazeley the route needs to cross the River Tame so a pavement walk to Fazeley Bridge at Two Gates. A light controlled crossing leads to a tarmac off road path which perhaps could be flooded at times. Shops etc at Dosthill then more road walking to Hockley and a climb which offers views west, Canwell Hall and the mast at Sutton Coldfield. The cross field paths to the M42 crossing are well walked before the final road section to Wood End.

22 Dec 2021I would recommend this route and I would walk it again.
A safe and interesting walk with no rights of way issues.
An interesting mix of contemporary and historical points of interest!
We also had a very good leader!.
