Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

16 Apr 2024Great walk following along the North Downs Way. I had to take a small detour as the path over the wooden footbridge off Blighton lane (by golf course) was flooded due to recent rain. Fine if you're wearing wellies.

11 Sep 2023We did this one in the opposite direct, i.e. Guildford to Farnham.
Very pleasant walk mostly along the South Downs Way. Very little road walking. There is a bit of an incline to negotiate, since the walk starts and ends at river height (River Wey), but climbs to follow just south of and parallel to the Hogs Back ridge.
Watts Gallery is a nice place to stop for coffee and cake, but the table service can be slow.
Note that the lock alongside Millbrook Car Park can no longer be crossed (it washed away), so it is necessary to divert via the A281 (Millbrook) between Guildford Rowing Club - using the pedestrian bridge over the Wey - and the Guildford Town Bridge by The White House pub.

15 Oct 2022Route starts near to the train station and entails walking along a busy road but you soon leave this for quieter roads. Walk follows North Downs Way through beech and oak woods. There is a bunkhouse at Puttenham for accommodation . The walk passes the Watts Gallery and ends along the Wey river to Guildford station.

28 May 2022A lovely walk mainly through the countryside and off road along the North Downs Way. A few short sections on some very quiet country roads and a small number of busy road crossings.
We walked it in June 2022 and the last section into Guildford was closed part way along the river wey. However you could cross a bridge to the main road and follow that the last few 100 metres into town.

30 Apr 2021Love this pleasant walk. We started from Guilford and walked to farnham instead. We completed the walk in around 5 hours. It's a very flat and direct walk and one could easily access it by following the North Down signs.
