We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

We really enjoyed this walk. It was varied in terms of terrain and views. Sounds obvious but walking from Bath centre out into the wild country in a few miles was great.
It is worth making sure you have enough food and water before you leave Bath because we didn't pass any shops until the community shop in Farmborough. If you have a water filter there are streams.
Signposting was ok and the Slow ways map worked well with the GPS.
Overall, it was a great experience that we wouldn't have had without Slow ways.

Very nice walk through some beautiful villages. We did Bath to Farmborough and skipped the last kink up Priest Barrow as we had longer to go pst Farmborough. All signs very easy to follow, good mixture of terrain.

This is a great way to walk from Farmborough to Bath - fairly direct and easily navigable. There is a reasonable amount of road walking, but it is along very quiet lanes (I only saw two vehicles the whole time). There are some steep sections, notably the section from Englishcombe to the edge of Bath, but this is unavoidable when walking to Bath (unless you are going along the canal or the river).

The route does a slightly odd "kink" at the end on the walk down into the city centre - there is a much more obvious and well trodden route into Bath - but this is a very minor issue, and not worth worrying about really - the route suggested still works fine.

Overall, a worthy addition to the Slow Ways network!.
