Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Walker1
20 Jan 2023I walked this from Aldershot Station to Farnham and returned by train.
An interesting and varied route starting with an urban street section in Aldershot then sandy open heathland leading to the parkland of Farnham Park and finally attractive side streets into Farnham town centre. Walkable all year round.
A close watch of the map is required to navigate the streets out from Aldershot town centre. Crossing the A325 needs care as the traffic lights do not have a pedestrian phase. Once across, the sandy path is gently undulating and there are great views across the heathland to Caesar's Camp and beyond.
There is a very steep ascent to the exit from the heathland into the side streets of Upper Hale and then a gentle decent down through Farnham Park past the Castle. The paths in Farnham Park are tarmac so suitable in all weathers.
The route finishes in the centre of Farnham at the bottom of Castle Street. There is a good selection of pubs, coffee shops and restaurants to choose from. Strangely the route does not finish at the railway station but this is a short walk away on the other side of the Farnham by-pass.
