Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

04 Jun 2023We walked this from Evesham to Bidford in May 23.
Pretty good going - a couple of short stretches could be wider with fewer nettles & less mud, but they were the exceptions. Almost all pleasantly off road & along the river, marred somewhat by needing to be brisk to cross the A46 outside Evesham. Well signed & easy to follow Avon Way (tho don't be tempted down the surfaced lane to the river at Mill Lane by Cleeve Prior - the riverside route it led to has been "extinguished". Keep to the bridleway along the hill instead). Stagecoach bus 28 (was X18) runs return journeys hourly. Diamond bus 247 is a possible alternative.

07 Aug 2022A good country walk. I did Bidford to Evesham. If you follow the river from Bidford there's a broken bridge just before Marlcliff but a possible stream crossing 50m south. Between Marlcliff and turning to Cleeve Prior some of the path is narrow and heavily overgrown except you can divert to the side of the field. The A46 crossing is difficult and requires patience to wait for a suitable gap in the traffic. X18 bus between the two ends (hourly service).

28 Oct 2021I walked this route June 2021
Its a good walk, mostly on the flat, a few gentle hills. very little road work, almost all good path.
Plan a lunch stop at the Fish and Anchor Inn near Offenham, you have to pass it anyway.
I've walked it several times and find it a safe route.
Take the bus from Evesham or visa versa, and walk back.
